I brought in my father's Seiko — it had not run in years. Razif was patient about explaining what the movement needed and gave me a clear idea of what the full service would cost. The watch came back keeping good time. I appreciated that he did not push me toward anything beyond what the piece actually needed.

I expected the battery change to be a quick drop-in and pick-up. Instead, Nurul noticed the seal on my watch was worn and explained what that means for water resistance. She showed me the difference and I decided to have it renewed. A small thing but it felt like they genuinely cared about giving me accurate information.

The Finish Restoration was well done. My daily-wear watch had accumulated quite a few scratches and the bracelet looked tired. I was a bit anxious about losing the original brushed look. They were clear upfront about what would and would not change — and the result was exactly what they described. Wears much better now.

First time using a local watch repairer and I was not sure what to expect. Azlan explained everything at a calm pace and did not make me feel rushed or unknowledgeable. The written note they gave me when I collected the watch was a nice touch — I had not seen that from a repair workshop before.

I have three mechanical pieces and this is where they will all go for service. The Full Care Service on my vintage ETA movement took about two weeks and came back running to within 5 seconds a day. That kind of accuracy from a local shop — I did not expect it.

I was worried about the case refinishing on a sentimental piece. They looked at it and actually advised me that the level of wear did not warrant a full refinish — a light clean and polish on specific areas would be enough. That kind of honesty keeps me coming back.

In more detail
A closer look at three service journeys
Challenge
A client inherited a 1970s automatic watch. It had not been serviced and was stopping intermittently. The family had sentimental reasons to want it running again, but were uncertain whether the cost was worth it.
Our approach
We inspected the movement and found dried lubricants and a worn mainspring. We explained the condition clearly, shared the service cost, and gave the client time to decide. Once agreed, the Full Care Service was completed over two weeks.
Outcome
The movement runs reliably and holds time within acceptable daily variance. The client was pleased that the watch — worn by their grandfather — was working again. They have since brought in a second piece.
Challenge
A client's daily-wear stainless-steel watch had developed heavy surface marks across the case and bracelet. They wanted a fresher appearance but were worried about losing the brushed texture on the lugs.
Our approach
We assessed the finish type and consulted with the client before starting. The polished surfaces were treated, while brushed areas were handled conservatively to preserve texture. We stopped where the client asked us to.
Outcome
The watch looked noticeably refreshed without losing its original character. The client described it as sitting at the right point between improved and unchanged — which was exactly what they had asked for.
Challenge
A diver's watch came in for a battery change. The client was unaware that the water resistance rating required seal renewal after each battery replacement to remain effective.
Our approach
During the Gentle Refresh, we pressure-tested the case and found it no longer held its rated resistance. We showed the client the result and explained what this means for a watch worn in water. The seals were renewed as part of the service.
Outcome
The watch now holds pressure to its original rating and the client can wear it comfortably in water again. They said the most useful part was simply being shown the pressure test result — something they had never seen done at a battery service before.
