Things people often ask

How long does a service take?

It depends on the service. A Gentle Refresh is usually ready within a few days. A Full Care Service on a mechanical movement takes longer — typically one to two weeks — because we do not cut corners on cleaning and regulation. We will give you a realistic estimate when you bring the piece in or enquire.

Do I need to book in advance?

We appreciate a short notice before you come in — a quick message or call means we can give your visit our full attention. Walk-ins are welcome, though there may be a short wait during busy periods.

What watches do you service?

We work on most quartz and mechanical watches — dress watches, everyday pieces, vintage models, and multi-function movements. If you have a particularly rare calibre or a watch with unusual complications, reach out first and we can let you know whether it falls within our scope.

Will refinishing remove all the scratches?

Not necessarily — and we think that is often a good thing. Refinishing eases heavy surface wear and restores a more comfortable appearance, but we do not chase perfection at the cost of the watch's character. We will be honest about what the result is likely to look like before we start.

What does the pressure check cover?

The pressure check uses dry air to verify that the case seals hold to the manufacturer's rated resistance. It does not replace a full gasket service, but it tells us whether the seals are still doing their job after the battery is changed. If they are not, we will let you know.

How should I keep my watch between services?

Store it away from strong magnets and extremes of temperature. Mechanical watches benefit from occasional winding if not worn regularly. Water-resistant models should have their seals checked whenever a battery is changed. We are happy to share more specific guidance during your visit.
